About Us
Helping you showcase the moments that matter
In need of quality photos to help with your fundraising efforts or generating more awareness about your cause?
You’re in the right place. We’re dedicated to shining a light on some of the hardest, valuable and most complicated work out there.
The not-for-profit sector consists of a diverse group, and we partner with NFPs and social enterprises to capture images and visual content that helps them reach their goals, needs, customers, and perspectives. Working alongside every client to ensure the content captured supports the powerful and impactful narratives they tell, generating real emotional engagement with every photo.
Partner with us to:
Support your campaign with strong, authentic and ethical images that compel donors to give and people to act.
Stock the image library with striking and emotive images that support your fundraising goals and organisational responsibilities.
Work with a photographer who understands your need to capture emotion and tell important stories.
Collaborate with a photographer who is just as passionate as you are about producing social good.
Who brings the stories to life?
Hi, I’m Nick, founder and chief storyteller of Not For Profit Media.
Over 13 years ago I started Sydney’s leading photography studio, Fine Photography; I hung up my NSW Police uniform and pursued my passion of photography - to not only ‘find joy’ but to ensure I could have the flexibility to be the primary carer for my young children.
The medium of visual storytelling provides a platform to highlight often forgotten groups and minorities, amplify messages of importance and encourages action from the public. From capturing a collection of war heroes, to a humanitarian visit to East Timor, I get to snap more than a picture.
Wrapped up in a single frame is someone’s emotion, personality and their story. This is my purpose.
My time as a police officer gave me experience with the ugly side of humanity, which inspired my various charity contributions over my lifetime. For several years Fine Photography has collected donations for a number of charitable organisations including The Nappy Collective and Share the Dignity.
In early 2022, inspired to illustrate to my children how to get out of their comfort zone, I jumped out of a plane, got muddy on an adventure course and got hit by paintballs in the name of raising over $50,000 for Women’s Community Shelters.
Though, to date, my biggest career highlight has been a trip to East Timor, accompanied by my daughter Penny, to be the lead photographer for NFP initiative - Friends of Soibada — a group of Northern Beaches locals committed to supporting the local people in Soibada, in their efforts to achieve sustainable development in their region.
Telling their stories through the medium of photography was ‘food for the soul’. I learnt, I embraced the culture and ways of life and I was truly inspired. Sometimes humility, camaraderie and being a good human is the only prerequisite to making a difference.
Moving forward post-COVID pandemic, I found myself leaning into working in the NFP space, and really got to carry my passion for helping others from my policing days into my role as a photographer.
Cue the birth of Not For Profit Media! A visual communications service dedicated to not-for-profits all over the world.
When I’m not behind the lens supporting organisations being a force for good in this world, or wrangling my young adult children and our three chocolate Labradors, you’ll find me working with like-minded people and organisations - trying to make a change for the better in the world.
Yours truly,
Nick Fiennes
PS Just in case you were wondering, Fiennes is pronounced ‘Fines’.
